Quickstart: from signup to first scan
Create a project, pick prompts and platforms, and read your first scan in about ten minutes.
Before you start
You need your brand's domain and a rough idea of the topics your buyers ask about. Everything else can be edited later.
Set up your project
- Sign up and create a company. The company holds billing and team members; projects live inside it.
- Create a project and enter your brand domain. One project tracks one brand.
- Confirm your brand details. Recited uses these to recognize your brand in answers.
- Review the suggested prompts. Onboarding proposes a starter set based on your brand, market, and topics. Keep the good ones, delete the rest, add your own. See choosing prompts for what makes a strong prompt.
- Pick your AI platforms. Every plan includes three; the defaults are ChatGPT Search, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews. See picking platforms and countries.
- Pick your country or countries, depending on plan. Every tracked country scans daily.
- Pick a plan. All plans include daily scans and unlimited team members; see plans and limits.
- Finish the wizard. A first scan starts immediately.
- Watch the dashboard fill in. Modules appear stage by stage as the scan progresses, so you do not have to wait for the whole run.
- Open a few answers in the answer log and read what the AI actually said. This is the fastest way to build intuition for the metrics.
What happens next
From now on, every tracked country scans once a day. After each scan:
- Every table updates and shows its change since the previous scan.
- The Overview page's "Since last scan" card lists the biggest movers.
- Content opportunities are re-detected and re-scored, and you get a notification when something significant lands.
First-day tips
- Do not judge trends on day one. You need a few scans before deltas mean much. See understanding your first scan.
- If a competitor is missing from the leaderboard, add it under project settings so Recited tracks it by name and domain.
- Press Cmd+J to ask the in-app AI agent questions about your data in plain language.
