The Competitors page
The full brand leaderboard, the sources you share with rivals, and the prompts where they beat you.
Who counts as a competitor
Recited finds brands two ways: the competitors you set up in project settings, and every brand it detects being named in answers to your prompts. Both appear in Market > Competitors, so a rival you never listed still shows up the day AI starts recommending them.
Leaderboard
The leaderboard ranks every tracked brand on the metrics that matter: visibility, share of voice, sentiment, and position. You are always in the list.
Each row shows its change since the previous scan, so the leaderboard doubles as a movement report: who climbed, who slipped, and whether the gap between you and the leader is opening or closing.
Shared ground
Shared ground looks at the citation layer. It groups the sources cited in your prompts' answers into three sets:
- Sites cited for you: sources that back answers mentioning your brand.
- Sites cited for them: sources that back competitor mentions.
- Sites cited for both: the common ground.
The "cited for them" group is your reading list. Those are the sites AI already trusts on your topics, and where a competitor's presence is doing work for them. The deeper version of this analysis, ranked by priority, lives in Missing citations.
Head to head
Head to head goes prompt by prompt and finds where a competitor is beating you: prompts where they are cited and you are not at all, and prompts where you both appear but they are cited more.
This is the most actionable table on the page. Each row is a specific question, a specific rival, and a measurable gap. If nothing qualifies, the page says so plainly: nowhere they beat you, and no one out-cites you.
From gaps to action
The tail of the page shows content opportunities related to what you just read, so the natural next step, writing something that closes a gap, is one click away.
How to work this page
- Check the leaderboard deltas after each scan. Movement is the story; absolute rank changes slowly.
- When a rival climbs, open the answer log filtered to their brand and read what changed in the answers.
- Use Head to head to pick your next battle: a prompt with real demand where one competitor narrowly beats you is usually the best return on effort.
